CHEN XIAOYAN

Hello! My name is Xiaoyan Chen. I study master Master of Multimedia Design and completed undergraduate degree of communication design at Monash.Throughout my study period, I have worked on a range of briefs including branding, web design,  typography. As a passionate self-taught graphic designer, I have an interest in working in different design areas in creative environments. By working on a range of projects which helped me to gain a deeper understanding of each aspect that is needed for graphic design. Three years of university  life taking my skills further and having done a vast amount of training in software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Muse, Illustrator, After Effect and Premiere Pro. I have improved the quality of my work and my software skills.

During these tasks, I have improved upon my teamwork and communication skills in the group assignment. Moreover, I enjoy the group work because the process of solving the problems and debate was all the sweeter for team exploring.

 

As designers, we work in a field that I will argue has the most ambiguous titles of all professions. With every new definition and permutation of the word “design”, we must continually redefine ourselves and our worth. We can’t define what good design is, the only thing we can do is to bring value and interest to the viewer from our work. Anyway, I enjoy the period of studying overseas.
